Biography

African-American actress and musician Persia White was born on October 25, 1976 in Miami, Florida. The half-Bahamian and half-Caucasian celebrity was raised in Nassau, Bahamas. She started showing her talents at the Coconut Grove Children’s Theatre in Miami, but has since appeared on a number of productions.

Persia White is best known for her role as Lynn Searcy on the CW sitcom, Girlfriends. However, her career has spanned numerous genres. She has appeared in various independent films, like Red Letters opposite Peter Coyote, and Blood Dolls, a cult horror released in 1999. She has been seen on television shows like NYPD Blue, Saved by the Bell: The New Class, and became known as Denise Williams in Breaker High. Her other guest spots were in The Steve Harvey Show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Brooklyn South. She has also been credited as co-producer in the award-winning do!$#!#entary Earthlings, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. She was later cast in Last Action Hero, Everyday Joe and Fall of the Night, and has signed on to appear on Spoken Word in 2009. White has also made appearances in Suddenly, Red Letters, Operation Sandman, Stalled, the series Clueless, The Burning Zone, Weird Science and Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction.

A vegan and environmentalist, Persia White is known as the vocalist and lyricist for the industrial rock band, XEO3. Also an activist and human rights advocate, she was honored by PETA in 2005 as Humanitarian of the Year. White is a member of the Church of Scientology, the Humane Society of the United States, Global Green, Farm Sanctuary, PETA, and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. White has appeared on the cover of the magazine Urban Ink, because of her many tribal design tattoos. In February 2008, she got married to her long-time boyfriend, actor, poet and musician Saul Williams.
