Actor Murray Bartlett was born on March 20, 1971 and raised in Perth, Australia. He was later educated at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. In 1991, he graduated with a degree in performing arts. While in Australia, he set on pursuing his acting career. While there, he landed a high-profile role in the Australian series headLand. Relocating to the United States in 2000, the actor was cast in a number of television series.
Murray Bartlett was later seen as Oliver Spencer in the hit HBO series, Sex and the City. This guest role earned him enough fame, rising to prominence for his portrayal of D.K. in the science fiction series Farscape. In 2002, he landed a part in McLeod’s Daughters, and was later seen on five episodes of The Secret Life of Us. Bartlett also made an appearance on All My Children and All Saints. In 2007, he was cast in The Flight of the Concords before he joined the cast of the soap opera Guiding Light. His character is that of Cyrus Foley, an accomplished thief whose partner in crime is Dinah Marler, played by Gina Tognoni. He has been romantically linked with a number of females on the show, but was arrested before moving to Springfield. Bartlett’s co-stars include Kim Zimmer, Jordan Clarke, Robert Newman and Michael O’Leary, who are senior cast members.
Some of Murray Bartlett’s other credits include touring with Hugh Jackman on the Australian touring company production of Jackman’s Broadway hit, The Boy From Oz. Bartlett has also been cast in Om, Postmortem, Muffled Love, The Three Stooges, Dad and Dave: On Our Selection and Half Mongrel. He was seen on episodes of Flipper, Above the Law, The Ferals and A Country Practice. Bartlett has also done a TV commercial for Nivea for Men, released in 2003.
