Biography

American film and television actor Michael Cassidy was born in March 20, 1983 in Portland, Oregon. He attended LaSalle High School in Milwaukie, Oregon and developed an interest in acting. He studied at New York’s New Actors’ Workshop for two years before he was catapulted to fame for his performances on television.

Michael Cassidy was first seen in 2004, playing Zach Stevens on the acclaimed television series The O.C. This role made him popular among audiences, especially since his character had an on-and-off romance with Summer Roberts, played by Rachel Bilson. Cassidy then worked on 2005’s The Girl from Monday, a sci-fi thriller written and directed by Hal Hartley. The actor was cast as Ted, allowing him to work with Bill Sage, Sabrina Lloyd, and Tatiana Abracos. That year, Cassidy was given a role in Dare, a gay short film co-starring Adam Fleming. His next project became another short, a comedy titled The Break. This was followed by a role in the family adventure film Zoom: Academy for Superheroes. Cassidy was cast as Dylan West, who has the power of invisibility and clairvoyance. Some of the actors co-stars in the film include Tim Allen, Courteney Cox, Chevy Chase, Spencer Breslin, Kevin Zegers, Kate Mara and Ryan Newman. In 2007, Cassidy landed a part in the series Hidden Palms, where he played the role of Cliff Wiatt. He soon joined the cast of Smallville, appearing on the series’ seventh season as the new editor of the Daily Planet and love interest of Lois Lane, Grant Gabriel. In 2008, Cassidy was given a role in the CW series Privileged, where he portrays the character Charlie Hogan. This enabled him to work alongside Joanna Garcia, Anne Archer, Kristina Apgar, Brian Hallisay, Ashley Newbrough and Rachel Boston. Other than acting, Michael Cassidy is also an avid golf player.
