Born on August 22, 1973, Kristen Carroll Wiig is an American actress, comedian and impressionist, originally from Rochester, New York. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1991 and later attended the University of Arizona.
Kristen Wiig joined the cast of the TV sketch comedy Saturday Night Live, during the show’s 2005-2006 season. Her debut in the show began on November 12, 2005, playing the wife of Jason Sudeikis. Since then, she has had a number of recurring roles. During the show’s 32nd season, Kristen Wiig became a full member of Saturday Night Live’s repertory cast. She has done impressions of Hollywood stars like Drew Barrymore, Judy Garland, Maggie Smith, Björk, Jessica Simpson, Felicity Huffman, Katharine Hepburn, Jennifer Tilly, Megan Mullaly and Jamie Lee Curtis. She has also played Justin Timberlake’s love interest in the popular “Dick in a Box,” a Saturday Night Live digital short.
Wiig is a member of the Groundlings Main Company in Los Angeles, and was promoted to the Groundlings Sunday Company after just one year. She is also a regular performer in The Perks, a show at the Empty Stage Comedy Theatre.
In 2003, she landed roles on Spike TV’s The Joe Schmo Show, portraying the character of marriage counselor Patricia Lane, also known as Dr. Pat the Quack. She was also cast as Carole Malone in the 2006 family adventure Unaccompanied Minors. That same year, she was in The Drew Carey Show and the TV series Home Purchasing Club. In 2007, she has appeared in films such as Knocked Up, Meet Bill, The Brothers Solomon, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. The next year, she was in the comedy Bear Handler and Pretty Bird. She appeared in one episode of 30 Rock as Candace Van Shark. Kristen Wiig also had parts in independent films such as Life, Death and Mini-Golf and June in 2004.
