Jennifer Love Hewitt is an actress, producer, director, and singer-songwriter who rose to fame with her roles in the hit Fox series Party of Five as Sarah Reeves Merrin and in the film "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and its sequel as Julie James.
Born in Waco, Texas, Hewitt was solely raised by her mother, Pat, in Harker Heights, Texas. At the age of 10, her family moved to Los Angeles with the encouragement of talent scouts. Hewitt quickly snagged some commercial works and a role on Disney's "Kids Incorporated" in 1989. In L.A., Hewitt attended Lincoln High School, where she met Jonathan Neville who later became a talent scout and recommended her to be cast in popular series, Party of Five in 1995.
In 1997, Hewitt landed the lead role in the hit horror flick, "I Know What You Did Last summer". She later appeared in the film's sequel in 1998, "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer".
In 1999, Hewitt released the single 'How Do I Deal" for the soundtrack of "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer", which became her first charting single peaking at No. 59 on the Hot 100. Three years after, she signed with Jive Records, recorded her 4th album and released her first single, "Barenaked". It turned out to be her biggest hit that peaked at No. 25 on the Top 40 Mainstream.
In 2004, Hewitt starred in "Garfield", which became her highest-grossing film to date. She would then reprise her role for the sequel, "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" two years after.
In 2005, Hewitt landed the lead role in the CBS hit television series Ghost Whisperer
for 5 seasons before being cancelled by the network in 2010. After Ghost Whisperer got cancelled, Hewitt earned another lead role on the Lifetime film, The Client List, which got her a Golden Globe nomination.
