Connie Nielsen is a Danish actress who has made a name for herself in Hollywood, thanks to movies like the dark comedy The Ice Harvest and Gladiator, where she played Lucilla and starred opposite Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.
Born on July 3, 1965, Nielsen traveled to various countries as a young model and studied in Italy as an actress. In 1996, she moves to the United States and subsequently landed the role of Christabella Andreoli in The Devil's Advocate, in which she appeared opposite Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves. This was followed by roles in Rushmore, Permanent Midnight, Dark Summer, Mission to Mars, One Hour Photo and Basic, just to name a few.
On the small screen, Nielsen also made waves as Detective Dani Beck on Law & Order: SVU, where she served as a temporary replacement for lead star Mariska Hargitay who went on maternity leave in 2006.
