Biography

Born on January 12, 1968 in New York City, New York, Christopher Gartin is an actor best known for his work in the movies, stage, and television. One of his first breaks include starring alongside Samantha Mathis on Aaron’s Way on television. He is married to wedding planner, New Zealand-born Joanne Gartin. Joanne planned and organized the weddings of big Hollywood names such as Elizabeth Berkley and Grey Lauren, and Molly Shannon and Taye Diggs.

The New York native counts Tremors 2: Aftershocks as one of his more notable works. He appeared in the film as cab driver Grady Hoover. He can also be seen in As Virgins Fall and the comedy Friends and Family. He has since appeared in high-profile programs like Baywatch, Melrose Place, Law & Order, NYPD Blue and Crossing Jordan. More recently, he has guest-starred on E-Ring, CSI and House. He also starred with Jodie Foster in the motion picture, Flightplan. In 2007, he joined the cast of the Lifetime drama Side order of Life where he played the role of Rick Purdy, Jenny’s mentor and the West Coast editor of InPerson magazine.

Gartin’s earlier film credits include No Big Deal in 1983, Firstborn in 1984, Benders as the voice of Phil in, 1994 in 1997, and How to Make in 1998. In stage, meanwhile, Gartin has appeared on The Buddy System in New York City in 1981, Precious Sons in 1986, The Last Night of Ballyhoo at the Helen Hayes Theater in 1997, Snakebit in Hudson Guild Theater in Hollywood in 200 and a Los Angeles production of Snake in the Vein.
