He initially wanted to become a hospital administrator however, after his encounter with a modeling agent at a mall where he previously worked, he was convinced that he was meant for the camera. He continued modeling while he was in college and eventually received projects which required him to travel. This forced him to momentarily drop school and take modeling full time. Coming to Divins' new home in New York, he decided to venture into acting. He failed to get cast at a popular soap opera he auditioned for, however the producers were impressed and passed him on to another show, Passions. It was his role in the drama series that launched his acting career to what it is today.
Chad Harris-Crane of Passions is played by Charles Divins. Chad was the result when Alistair Crane raped Liz Sanbourne in Boston. He later grew up in Los Angeles, where he was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Harris. When he was eight years old, Chad ran away from home only to come back to find the Harrises missing. He was then moved to foster care. He grew up to be a successful record executive and later married Latoya Harris, who refused to move with him to Harmony. They soon separated and Chad moved to Harmony to discover that he was only an adopted son of the Harrises.
