Born on June 24, 1977 in San Francisco, California, Amir Talai is an actor and comedian known for his portrayals on several television shows. One of his earliest projects was doing the voice work for the videogame The Sims Hot Date. He continued his career in acting with a number of appearances. He was in Nash Bridges in 2001, playing Khalil Dib. He graduated from Groundlings, UC Berkeley and trained with Richard Seyd and Shari Shaw. Talai worked in theater as well, making appearances on the Pasadena Playhouse production of Can-Can, where he received a 2007 Ovation nomination. He was also seen on A Perfect Wedding, a production by Mark Taper New Works.
Amir Talai’s television credits include guest starring roles on Nip/Tuck in 2004, Cold Case in 2005, The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman in 2006. He was also on an episode of Hannah Montana titled “Debt it Be.” Talai was a recurring cast member on the series The Gilmore Girls, playing the character Patel Chandrasekhar in 2005. He also landed recurring roles on The Comeback, Love, Inc., The Winner and NBC’s Studio60 on the Sunset Strip. He soon became a regular cast member on the series Campus Ladies on the Oxygen Network. Amir Talai also took on a number of supporting roles in major Hollywood films. He was on Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde in 2003, opposite Reese Witherspoon and Sally Field. His next project became November, followed by a small role in The Pursuit of Happyness. Talai was also seen playing the character Raza Syed alongside John Cho and Kal Penn in the comedy film Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Amir Talai appeared in some commercials, and was then cast in another television series on CBS, The Ex List. He plays Cyrus, who is full of wry observations though without a job. Other cast members of The Ex List include Elizabeth Reaser, Rachel Boston, Adam Rothenberg and Alex Breckenridge.
