June 1, 2009

After 16 years of filming Late Night with Conan O'Brien, tonight the redheaded funnyman begins his new gig as the host of The Tonight Show. He'll be joined by Will Ferrell, musical guest Pearl Jam, and will have former Late Night co-host Andy Richter by his side once more.

In anticipation of his Tonight debut, many of Conan's celebrity friends--including 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, Apprentice host Donald Trump, and others--offered words of encouragement and advice to O'Brien, who will have all of America watching to see how he makes the gig his own.

As O'Brien recently told the New York Times, "There's an opportunity to put my stamp on this show. I've got an ego, and I want to do my Tonight Show."

'Deal or No Deal' First Millionaire Talks About Her Victory

September 9, 2008

As previously hinted, Deal or No Deal celebrated its first million dollar winner last Monday.  The first person in the show's history to win the top prize came in the form of Jessica Robinson, 27, from Sandee, Utah.

Robinson played during the Million Dollar Mission on the Deal or No Deal episode airing September 1.  With five million dollar cases, she eliminated the first four quickly, putting even more pressure on her decision.  The final three amounts on the board were $100,000, $200,000, and $1,000,000.  She turned down a final bank offer of $561,000 and decided put it all on the line for the money.  She kept her case, number 4, and won the million.

'Deal or No Deal' Spoilers: The First Million Dollar Winner

August 29, 2008

After the first three seasons, Deal or No Deal has never had a contestant win the million dollar top prize. The game is so simple and random that, after 246 episodes, the law of averages dictates that a few people would've won the million by now. In season 4, that's all about to change. Premiering last Monday, NBC has promised that this season, Deal or No Deal will have its first million dollar winner. If you want to know exactly when that first lucky contestant will get the grand prize so you know when to tune in, continue reading.

August 18, 2008

For exclusive on-set videos and hot features on the new TV season, check out BuddyTV's Fall 2008 Preview.

Network:
NBC

Premiere: Monday, August 25, 8pm

Host: Howie Mandel

Premise:
Contestants choose a briefcase with a monetary unit labeled inside.  From there, they choose from a selection of numbered briefcases, each with different monetary values inside.  After every round, more briefcases are unearthed, their monetary values discovered, and the banker offers the player a “deal,” which is essentially a buy out.  Players have the option of eliminating all briefcases and then taking home the value labeled inside their own briefcase, but that almost never happens.  It's a game that requires almost no skill.
