The Bubble Report: 'Men In Trees' Axed, 'Reaper' Looking Good, and More

May 5, 2008

Men In Trees has been canceled.  The Anne Heche-led series has had its fair share of ups and downs over its short life.  It has had its moments (especially when placed after Grey's Anatomy on the schedule) but Men In Trees turned into one of those shows that suffered from schizophrenic scheduling, ABC moving it all around its prime time landscape, as well as keeping it off the air for long stretches of time.  Now, it is gone for good.  The Hollywood Reporter took a look at a number of so-called “on the bubble” shows today and their conclusions are somewhat surprising.  Keep reading to find out the possible (probable, maybe) fates of Reaper, Moonlight, Boston Legal and more.

'Boston Legal' Moves to New Timeslot Tonight

April 30, 2008

Last week on Boston Legal, we saw Episode 4.18, "The Court Supreme," which followed Alan Shore (James Spader) as he presented an appeal to the Supreme Court regarding a mentally challenged man who was unfortunately convicted of statutory rape.  Lorraine Weller (Saffron Burrows) on the other hand, approached Katie Lloyd (Tara Summers) with unexpected news about Jerry Espenson's (Christian Clemenson) girlfriend. In tonight's episode, we'll be seeing more of the Legal crew as Denny Crane (William Shatner) does something very unexpected.

Boston Legal's Episode 4.19, entitled "Indecent Proposals" will air tonight in its new timeslot at 10pm. Read on to see what's to come in tonight's episode.

'Boston Legal' Star to do Multiple Projects with BSEG

February 26, 2008

William Shatner Emmy Award-winning actor William Shatner, known most for his roles on Star Trek and ABC's Boston Legal, has signed with Big Screen Entertainment Group (BSEG) on multiple projects.  The actor and the full service entertainment company have already begun production on their first joint effort.

"We are beyond thrilled to be working with William Shatner, one of the most beloved and respected actors of our time," BSEG's CEO Kimberley Kates said.  "After achieving icon status playing Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek, he continues to entertain audiences every week on ABC's Boston Legal, 40 years later: Truly an amazing career."

ION Television to Air 'Boston Legal'

February 20, 2008

The main cast of ABC's Boston LegalYesterday, ION Media Networks, Inc. announced that it has entered into an agreement with 20th Century Television to air the hit ABC dramedy, Boston Legal, on ION Television starting this fall.  The agreement falls in line with the company's efforts to provide popular and diverse entertainment.

Boston Legal will be to ION Television what Denny Crane is to Crane, Poole & Schmidt – bold, outrageous and positively entertaining,” Brandon Burgess, chairman and CEO of ION Media Networks, said.  “Smart writing, with humor and heart, and an all-star cast, including James Spader, Candice Bergen and William Shatner, makes this one of the best shows on television.  We are excited to bring Boston Legal to millions of fans on the ION Television Network starting this Fall.”

'Boston Legal' Star "Blundered" His Way Through Life

February 12, 2008

William ShatnerWilliam Shatner has made quite a name for himself in Hollywood.  After starring as Captain Kirk on the original Star Trek series, he went on to do numerous notable film and television projects, including T.J. Hooker, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Miss Congeniality 1 and 2 and The Practice.  Now, he portrays the eccentric Denny Crane on ABC's legal dramedy, Boston Legal.

Despite all that he has accomplished, however, Shatner seems to see nothing significant in the 50 or so years he has spent in the entertainment industry.
