Biography

Emmy-nominated American actress Bobbie Eakes was born on July 25, 1961 in Warner Robins, Georgia. While studying at the University of Georgia, she was selected as Miss Georgia in 1982, and went on to enter the top ten of that year’s Miss America pageant. She started her acting career in the mid-1980s, beginning with guest roles in shows such as Falcon Crest, Matlock, Jake and the Fatman, Cheers, The Wonder Years and 21 Jump Street.

In 1989, Eakes joined the cast of the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful. She played the role of Macy Alexander, an employee of Spectra Fashions and former singer. The soap’s “good girl” character, she nevertheless had personal struggles of her own, including alcoholism and multiply failed marriages. She was killed off in 2000, when the writers determined that Eakes’ character wasn’t contributing much to the soap’s storyline. However, she reappeared in 2002, playing the same character, only to be killed off the following year.

During her stint with The Bold and the Beautiful, Eakes hosted shows on Great American Country, a channel dedicated to country music. A singer herself, her 2000 single “Tired of Loving This Way” peaked at number 50 on the Billboard country charts.

Eakes’ frustration with the way the writers are treating her character on B&B led to her moving daytime soaps. In 2003, she joined the cast of All My Children, where she originated the role of Krystal Carey. The mother of Babe Carey (then played by Alexa Havins), she is known for her fun and crazy attitude. As such, she also starred in One Life to Live, as part of a crossover storyline between the two soaps, which involved Babe and her baby.

Eakes has also appeared on stage, appearing in the Los Angeles productions of Cinderella and Love Letters opposite Jeff Trachta, her co-star on The Bold and the Beautiful.
