Nancy Botwin has not had much luck in terms of her love life but she’s not giving up hope just yet.  As she moves to a new location, a rundown seaside California town near the Mexican border, she’ll be meeting someone who just might turn out to be her ideal match.

Of course, viewers will have to stay tuned to the fourth season of Weeds to find out if Nancy’s newfound romance has any potential at all.  But for those who can’t wait until June 16, read on to find out more about Nancy’ new man.

According to TV Guide, Mexican actor Demian Bichir will be appearing on Weeds as the Mary Louise Parker’s character’s new love interest this season.  He’ll be playing a character named Esteban, who serves as the mayor of Tijuana.  His character is also described as sexy, dangerous and powerful, so fans can expect some intriguing romantic plots to ensue in the coming episodes.

Bichir, who is credited for numerous telenovelas, started his acting career at the age of 14.  His 1999 movie Sexo, pudor y lágrimas (Sex, Shame, and Tears) broke box-office records in Mexico becoming the number 1 movie in the history of Mexican cinema until El crimen del Padre Amaro (The Crime of Father Amaro).  Recently, he got cast in the The Argentine and Guerrilla, in which he both plays Fidel Castro.

Meanwhile, casting Demian Bichir is just one of the “big changes’ in store for the new season of Weeds.  Notable comedian Albert Brooks is set to appear on the show for the first four episodes as Nancy’s estranged father-in-law, while Boston Legal‘s Julie Bowen has been cast to play a cradle-snatching single mom who “befriends” Nancy Botwin’s son, Silas.

Weeds stars Mary-Louise Parker (Nancy Botwin), Elizabeth Perkins (Celia Hodes), Justin Kirk (Andy Botwin), Hunter Parrish (Silas Botwin), Alexander Gould (Shane Botwin), and Kevin Nealon (Doug Wilson), just to name a few.
