Watching gory vampires has always intrigued me but after seeing Godric on last week’s episode of True Blood, this HBO series piqued my interest even more.  There’s just something about an ancient vampire (over two thousand years old) who effortlessly projects power and wisdom behind such a youthful facade. At any rate, there’s no denying that he’s a big part of this season’s storyline and that we’ll be seeing more of him in the episodes to come, including tonight’s installment called “Timebomb.”

Last time we saw True Blood, Sookie desperately tried to contact Bill as her mission with Hugo hit a snag, even reaching out to Barry telepathically, but to no avail as Lorena is still holding Bill captive. At the same time, Gabe burst into the basement, beat up Hugo and tried to rape Sookie but at the last second, was pulled off by none other than Godric. Tonight, Sookie’s predicament takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Eric, who is requested by his master, Godric, to face an F.O.T.S. in full lockdown mode.

After fearing for his safety for running afoul of the Fellowship of the Sun’s doctrine and consequently being shot by Sarah, Jason now finds himself at the other side of the road and at the mercy of the vampires. And while Jason tries to pay off his debt, Godric looks to enlighten his more single-minded followers.

As for Maryann, it seems like her storyline is getting even more complicated by the week. After witnessing all the orgies and bizarre worship rituals, you’d think that it couldn’t get any worse. But it looks as though Sam’s contentious relationship with Maryann has developed yet another threat when Sam finds himself in hot water after making a gruesome discover at Merlotte’s. And Andy, as usual, proves no help in coming to his defense. However, that’s not all for Maryann tonight. She also prepares something for Tara and Eggs, who get physical after partaking in a “Hunter soufflé.”

To break all the crazy Maryann plot, the episode also puts the spotlight on Jessica and Hoyt, a pairing that’s become to be popular among True Blood fans these days, who realize that when it comes to sex, every time is the first time.
