Brad Garrett Pops the Question: Will You Date Me?

Brad Garrett seemingly jumped onto the bandwagon of hopeless romantics as he is set to launch his own reality dating series.  The actor, who played the lovelorn Robert Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, has found himself in the same spot as his character—looking for love in the wrong places.  With the help of technology and the right media, Garrett is setting out on a journey to find a woman with whom he can share a connection, and hopefully a lasting relationship with.

Sony Pictures TV will be producing Dating Brad Garrett, the 10-episode long series which will be co-produced by Garrett himself.  Ten women will be picked to be part of this new Internet reality series. Interested individuals can now send in their video applications through Crackle.com/DateBrad.

While fans may be wondering what was going through his head when he accepted this offer, Garrett explains that “An online dating show seemed like a logical choice given that I'm in the midst of a midlife crisis, and adverse to pain.”

Moreover, Garrett says that he has no preconceived notion about who should send in their applications.  In fact, he says that “Since I'm not picky about my choices, I hope women of all sizes, shapes and colors will be compelled to submit their videos.”

Like any other dating show, judges will be at hand to scrutinize the contenders.  The judges for the show are Garrett’s ex wife and urologist. However, Garrett warns aspiring contestants, “My shrink says I have a Napoleon complex.  My Social Life mirrors my movie career.”

Nonetheless, he says that he lives a clean and healthy lifestyle, but he may have an effect on the ladies.

"I think it's important to know that I don't drink alcohol and I don't do drugs.  If you go out with me.  You may want to," Garret said jokingly.  "I'm looking for a woman [who] doesn't aim high. If you have a low self-esteem, it could be you."

Lastly, Garret admits that he is quite picky, “but not in demand.”

Fans can catch him on Dating Brad Garrett this fall through Crackle.com, YouTube, AOL Video, Hulu and Verizon Wireless' V Cast Video Service among others.
