This one is easy. Last week The Voice threw us all for a bit of a curveball when Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons were eliminated, defying the mostly accurate iTunes predictions. This week, however, I’m fairly confident iTunes can tell us exactly who will go home. It helps that they changed the rules and only one singer from the Top 6 is going to be eliminated. Also changed is the time of the results show, which moves to 8pm tonight.

Ten of the 12 songs performed on the Top 6 show landed in the Top 50 on iTunes. Those would be both songs by Michelle Chamuel, Danielle Bradbery, Amber Carrington, Sasha Allen and The Swon Brothers. That leaves Holly Tucker as the odd woman out. Her best song came in at 70.

Also, Michelle Chamuel will get her votes multiplied by 10 since her cover of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” reached #4 on iTunes. Interestingly enough, all four of the songs by Michelle and Danielle Bradbery landed in the Top 20. This is definitely a two-lady race.

If you’re interested, here were the iTunes rankings when I checked shortly after 10am ET.

Michelle Chamuel: 4 and 18
Danielle Bradbery: 12 and 20
Sasha Allen: 27 and 44
The Swon Brothers: 29 and 47
Amber Carrington: 31 and 34
Holly Tucker: 70 (“I Wish”)

Sasha and Amber were the only artists whose coach’s choice songs sold better than their own choice. That would suggest to me that Shakira and Adam Levine know how to pick songs while Usher and Blake Shelton are less impressive at that particular skill.

Anyway, here are my fairly obvious predictions given that data.

Who’s Safe?

Michelle Chamuel and Danielle Bradbery are, as Randy Jackson would say, in it to win it. For a while I’ve been thinking Danielle was unbeatable, but given Michelle’s surging popularity, her steady improvement as a performer and the fact that she outsold Danielle, I may have spoke too soon. Danielle is basically coasting, not really getting any better, while Michelle has all of the momentum. If this continues, Usher could sneak in with a surprise victory.

Who’s in the Middle?

Sasha Allen and Amber Carrington continue to do well on iTunes, just not well enough to ever launch them into the same category as Michelle or Danielle. Still, having both your songs sell well is a good sign. As for The Swon Brothers, they continue to be an absolute mystery to me. They’re the least talented contestants, vocally, and I don’t see anything special or unique about them. Yet week after week they perform solidly on iTunes.

Who’s in Danger?

Holly Tucker. She’s all that’s left and her songs sold far, far worse than anyone else on iTunes. Also, the show has been sabotaging her by making her perform early every single week. In the Top 6 and Top 10 shows, Holly was the first singer to perform. In the Top 8 and Top 12 shows, she was the second to perform. If you believe performance order matters for voting (and I think it does), you have to wonder why The Voice is repeatedly screwing Holly over by putting her at the beginning every time.

My Prediction

Holly Tucker is going home. Anything other than this outcome will be a huge shock. I would genuinely have no idea who would be going home with her if they left it at two eliminations (that seems to be a three-way tie between Sasha, Amber and The Swon Brothers). But Holly is definitely at the bottom. Her songs didn’t sell well, she performed early and she’s just not that interesting or compelling, compared to some of the other contestants.

What do you think of the Top 6? Is it even remotely possible that Holly Tucker WON’T be eliminated? Can Michelle Chamuel actually beat Danielle Bradbery and end Blake Shelton’s reign of terror? Are you disappointed they’re only sending one singer home this week?
