The next season of The Voice is less than month away. While fans await the arrival of season 10, NBC has announced some news. Miley Cyrus will be joining the next season of The Voice, not as coach but a key adviser. While it is unclear when Miley will appear on The Voice it is reasonable to assume that she will take Rhianna’s place from last season as an assistant coach during one of The Voice Knockout Rounds.

Paul Telegy, the President of NBC’s Late Night and Alternative programming spoke about Miley joining The Voice. “When Miley speaks everyone pays attention. Our artists are very lucky to have the benefit of her instincts and wisdom. Our viewers will be treated to an inside look at one of the brightest minds in music and the entertainment industry who is at the forefront of pop culture.” This is certainly a favorable and diplomatic look at Miley’s career and talents.

Love or hate her, Miley is a talented singer. Hopefully Miley will be able to tone down her more flamboyant stage presence and focus just on the vocals of the contestants. Miley certainly has some big shoes to fill. Rhianna was excellent in a similar role in season 9. She proved if she was willing that would be an excellent full time coach on The Voice.

But what do you think are you excited Miley is coming to The Voice? Are you horrified? Do you wish The Voice would’ve brought back Rhianna instead? Was Miley the right choice or would you rather seen someone completely different?

The Voice returns for season 10, Monday February 29 at 8pm.
