What is Elena going to be like after Elena’s compulsion? Who’s Caroline’s new “breakfast buddy”? How does Stefan react to Enzo killing his girlfriend? The previews out for this week’s episode of CW’s The Vampire Diaries, “Welcome to Paradise,” tease the answers to those questions and more.

In this next episode, Elena tries to bring fun back into their lives, Tyler asks Liv for a favor and Stefan returns to track down Enzo. Meanwhile, after discovering someone filled in a crossword clue, Damon and Bonnie find more clues that they’re not alone.

Watch the promo for “Welcome to Paradise”:

Stefan requests time off work to go kill Enzo for killing Ivy, and he has visual proof for his boss. When Elena invites him to the swimming hole, he wants to know if Enzo will be there, and there’s going to be a confrontation in the woods. Plus, there’s a fire, Enzo needs to do a taste test to determine if there’s blood or pie on his shirt, Liv and Tyler get close and Bonnie gets a glimpse at the other person wherever she and Damon are.

Check out a sneak peek:

Caroline had “a momentary moment of weakness,” but despite what she may have said the night before, she’s not moving back in, though that is something Elena is planning to work on at a later time. “Needing your friends isn’t a weakness,” Elena insists, and she thinks Caroline needs to cut Stefan some slack because he lost his brother, “granted said brother was a soulless, homicidal maniac.” Say hello to the new, post-compulsion Elena.

Meanwhile, Caroline and Enzo have become “breakfast buddies.” “Ironically, he’s recently become one of the more stable people in my life,” Caroline explains. Will she be put in an awkward position when Stefan hunts her new friend down?

See what executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries have to say about this next TVD episode:

Because, as Plec puts it, “Enzo really crossed a line by killing Ivy,” Stefan is forced to go home, “the last place on this planet” that he wants to be to kill him, driven by a “Ripper-esque intensity.”

Elena “doesn’t seem like her old self,” Caroline insists, but Matt thinks that’s just “because she’s happy,” the point of the compulsion. “She’s just a college girl who’s out looking for a good time,” Dries explains.

Finally, Damon and Bonnie have to do the normal, every-day things like shopping even though they’re stuck reliving the same day. “We have proof we’re not alone,” she points out, and they’re going to be trying to figure out what’s going on.
