The Real Housewives of Atlanta
star Kim Zolciak wrapped up her one season spin-off Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding
last night. The finale ended with Kim and her husband Kroy Biermann's big day, but the evening definitely wasn't smooth sailing: Kim and Kroy had to remove Kim's mom from the wedding.
Kim's mother Karen had been frustrating Kim all season long with panic-induced fits about her shoes and her dresses, when (as Phaedra Parks would say) everybody knows it should always be about the bride. It seems Kim's irritation finally came to a head on her big day.
Since the wedding was taking place in the Zolciak-Biermann yard, Kim and Kroy were quite adamant about not letting any of the guests into their house. They even went so far as to spend $5,000 on renting porta-potties for their guests to use during the event. However Karen didn't think the rule applied to her and her sister.
Karen and her sister not only broke into the house to use the bathroom, but they went up to Kim and Kroy's room were baby K.J. was sleeping. When confronted by the groom and asked to leave, the sisters were argumentative, even telling Kroy "f--- you" during his own wedding.
It was then that Kim made the decision that her mother had to be escorted from the premises.
"I was so upset at my mom drama allll day long it just got to be too much!" Kim tweeted
last night during the episode. I spent hours dealing with the drama!"
co-star and wedding guest (looks like they've gotten over "Black Baby Gate"
) Kandi Burruss thought the whole incident was strange and a little dramatic for her sensibilities:
Despite the drama with her mama, Kim thinks that the success of DBTFTW
could lead her to bigger and better things on Bravo.
"I definitely wanted it to be successful, doing this wedding spin-off. But I didn't think it would be this big," Kim told the Huffington Post.
"I would love to have my own spin-off."
