A new day of Upfronts brings another batch of trailers for the new fall 2015 TV shows. ABC has released preview videos for two upcoming comedies.

Check out the trailers for The Muppets and Dr. Ken below; hopefully, it gives you a good sense of what these shows will be like and to see if you want to check them out this fall.

ABC’s 2015-2016 Schedule: The Muppets Come to Tuesdays >>>

The Muppets (Tuesdays at 8pm)

If you didn’t think two Muppet movies in recent years was enough, then get ready for more childhood nostalgia as The Muppets returns to the small screen in a documentary-style format. The storylines with this franchise tend to focus mostly on the Muppets’ stardom. This revival will go inside their personal lives and relationships, and we’ll see various aspects of this, including romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires. ABC describes this show as a “more adult Muppet show, for ‘kids’ of all ages.” The series stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the rest of the Muppets gang.

Based on the preview, expect The Muppets to have the same great quality and humor that we’ve come to expect (as well as being very meta) including when they use the device that shows like The Office have used where the characters speak to the camera in a documentary-like fashion.

Dr. Ken (Fridays at 8:30pm)

With Cristela cancelled, ABC is filling the post-Last Man Standing and pre-Shark Tank timeslot with new comedy Dr. Ken. Ken Jeong stars as the titular character, a physician who, well, let’s just say he doesn’t have the best bedside manners. But he has good intentions — does that count for something? Maybe not, as he ends up driving everyone around him crazy. The series also stars Suzy Nakamura, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Dave Foley, Jonathan Slavin, Albert Tsai and Krista Marie Yu. Jeong is also one of the writers and executive producers.

The trailer mentions at the start that Jeong was a doctor before he became an actor and comedian. I just hope he acted more professionally at that job than his character does on Dr. Ken.

Ken Jeong has been in a lot of movies, not to mention the TV show Community, so I’m sure many people will want to check his new show out. But it’s too early to tell from watching the trailer if Dr. Ken will have longevity or if it’s just a generic comedy.
