While all the talk lately is on The Big Bang Theory
moving to a new night in the fall while CBS airs eight Thursday Night Football
games, there are two other Thursday night comedies that are making some moves as early as this month.
The network has announced that freshmen comedy The Crazy Ones and aging sitcom Two and a Half Men will swap timeslots beginning on Thursday, February 27, with the former moving to 9:30pm and the latter to 9pm. The Big Bang Theory and The Millers, which air in the 8pm hour, will stay right where they are for the rest of the season.
The Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring comedy will air its finale on Thursday, April 17, where they will have aired all 22 episodes of season 1 by that point.
So what is taking the Crazy Ones' timeslot? New comedy Bad Teacher, which is based on a 2011 movie with Cameron Diaz. It will premiere a week later, on Thursday, February 24 at 9:30pm.
For the TV series adaptation, Ari Graynor is taking up the role originated by Diaz. She's playing a former trophy wife who, according to CBS, "masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her." The series also stars Sara Gilbert, Ryan Hansen, David Alan Grier, Kristin Davis and Sara Rodier.
And the crime drama Unforgettable will resume its second season on Friday, April 4 at 8pm, after Undercover Boss has finished out its run for the season. The series, starring Poppy Montgomery as an NYPD detective, was canceled in May 2012, but then CBS reversed its decision a month later and picked the show up for a sophomore season.
