The Biggest Loser: Couples: Shanon Thomas Charged with Domestic Violence
On-screen, the contestants of The Biggest Loser struggle with losing weight, partly because of the prizes at stake, but mostly because of the improvements it will bring to their lives, regardless of victory.  Off-screen, their struggles primarily remain the same—and then some.  One of these stories are unfolding right now.

One of the contestants of the current season of The Biggest Loser: Couples was charged with domestic violence after allegedy threw a bag of flour on a tenant's face.  30-year-old Shanon Thomas—one-half of mother-daughter team Helen and Shanon—was tagged in hurting Michael Nolden, 32, who rents an apartment in the basement of her home in Center Line, Michigan.

In a testimony to police, Nolden alleged that Thomas kicked the door to his apartment open on December 16 last year, and started to yell about the volume of his television.  Then, she allegedly threw a bag of flour on the victim's face.

Thomas appeared before a judge on Tuesday, and was released through a $2,000 bond. She entered a no-guilty plea, but was requested not to have contact with the victim. If convicted, she could face up to 93 days in jail.

This isn't her first run-in with the law; in 2004, she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, according to a court administrator.

Shanon, a massage therapist, was one of nine contestants sent home in the premiere of The Biggest Loser: Couples last Tuesday, in a surprise twist; however, if her mother stays in the ranch for 30 days, she could be sent back to the show.  Nevertheless, she lost 13 pounds on the first week, from her starting weight of 283 pounds.  Representatives for NBC declined to comment on the incident, or whether it would have an impact on her status on The Biggest Loser.
