The Amazing Race is back! Well, in September it is. Nonetheless, the critically acclaimed reality series is set to return from its longest hiatus ever in the Fall.
The Amazing Race had a bizarre 2007-2008 season. It was kept off the Fall schedule, and was initially to be used as a stop gap for the impending writers' strike. It was set to air in the Winter, but when
Viva Laughlin went all
Viva Laughlin on the world and had to be mercifully canceled after one episode,
The Amazing Race stepped in in the Fall. As a result, the season ran its course, and with no additional season in production, the usual Spring edition of
The Amazing Race was absent. Fans need not worry about the future –
The Amazing Race 13 will air in the Fall, and CBS is already casting for
The Amazing Race 14.

this is a very amazing program, participating in this race would be a great experience in my life.
In fact, The Oregonian is reporting that
The Amazing Race 13's finale was recently filmed in Portland, Oregon. Portland is a cool town, and was ripe for a visit from the reality series. While no specific premiere date has been given for the next season of
The Amazing Race, it will retain its usual time slot of Sundays at 8pm. It will follow
60 Minutes (and the senile rants of Andy Rooney) and precede
Cold Case.
As a long-time fan of
The Amazing Race, it's about time I stop worrying about the show's future. There are always rumblings that this will be the final season of
The Amazing Race, but it keeps chugging along. The truth is, CBS may discontinue the series eventually if it has a full schedule they are happy with, but that will never happen. There will always be a place for a reliable reality series with a solid fan base. T
he Amazing Race: please don't ever go away.
