The third week of So You Think You Can Dance competition will feature a much-decimated cast of dancers — last week’s elimination of Nick Young, Missy Morelli, Iveta Lukosiute and Wadi Jones brings us down to only 16 competitors. They will, however, be joined by a new guest judge and a guest dance group.

The guest judge for the third week of SYTYCD competition will be Kristin Chenoweth. Chenoweth is a very familiar face to TV viewers: in addition to her Emmy-winning role as Olive on Pushing Daisies, the actress was on two seasons of The West Wing (as Annabeth Schott) and has appeared as April Rhodes on several episodes of Glee. Starting at midseason, the actress will star in the new series GCB (formerly Good Christian Belles, formerly the awesomely titled Good Christian Bitches).

Kristin Chenoweth is also something of a Broadway superstar. She has a Tony for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and is even more famous for having played Glinda in Wicked. She’s mostly known for her singing (which is incredible), but it’s a safe bet that all that theater experience means dance familiarity.

Joining Chenoweth in this week’s “guest” category is the AXIS Dance Company, set to perform during the Thursday-night results show. The Company, which is based in northern California, features a diverse group of dancers, many of whom have overcome disabilities to dance. No other musical or performance acts have been announced yet, but another musical act is a good bet.

Although So You Think You Can Dance has made it clear that Lady Gaga will perform at some point this season, the other guest judges seem to be announced on a week-to-week basis. We will just have to wait for whoever will take to the judges’ table in week 4.
