Debuting after The Voice (which itself was riding high from a post-Super Bowl timeslot the previous night), NBC's new musical show, Smash, debuted to solid ratings with 11.5 million viewers tuning in to see fabulous performances by Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty, plus starring roles by such strong actresses as Debra Messing and Anjelica Huston.

The pilot brought us one cover, Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," and two original songs, "The National Pastime" and "Let Me Be Your Star." If you found yourself enjoying this nice mix of originals and covers, then you'll be happy to know that each episode will continue the trend.

In next Monday's episode, "Callbacks," there will be four songs total performed: Blondie's "Call Me," Carrie Underwood's "Crazy Dreams," "20th Century Fox Mambo" (an original), as well as a reprise of last week's original, "Let Me Be Your Star." Take a listen to these songs for yourself:

"Call Me" -- Karen (Katharine McPhee):

"Crazy Dreams" -- Ivy (Megan Hilty):

Speaking of "20th Century Fox Mambo," NBC has released an early look at the Katharine McPhee led performance as she transforms into Marilyn Monroe, blonde hair and all:

Speaking of transforming into Marilyn, check out the photo at the top of this article of both Megan Hilty and Katharine McPhee side by side dressed all up as Marilyn. They both look fantastic, don't you think? Either one could do the part justice.

According to FOX, in next Monday's episode, "Ivy and Karen jump through hoops as they pursue the role of a lifetime. Meanwhile, Julia and her husband, Frank, are frustrated by the red tape of an international adoption process, and Eileen fights to finance her new musical."

Will you be tuning in to the second episode of Smash? Which song are you looking forward to seeing performed the most? And who should be Marilyn, Karen or Ivy?

Smash airs Mondays at 10pm on NBC.
