Revenge ended last season on quite a few cliffhangers. Emily and Daniel were engaged, but did that change after she revealed her true identity to Jack? And, did Daniel shoot and/or kill Aiden. Both of those cliffhangers will be answered to some extent in the season 3 premiere.

‘Revenge’ Exclusive Interview: Barry Sloane on a Darker Aiden and His Shocking Return>>>

I caught up with Josh Bowman at the ABC All-Star Reception this summer to find out what’s going on with Daniel and Emily, the Graysons, and what happened that fateful night at Emily’s house.

Where is Daniel after the time jump?

Me and Emily are living together. I’m out of the f**king pool house finally. We’re in Manhattan and we obviously come back to the Hamptons for the summer. You’ll see two new characters introduced: the step-brother played by Justin Hartley and then Karine Vanasse who’s playing a girl named Margo. And, she’s French and she wants to start a magazine company.

And, I want to jump on that bandwagon because I’m jobless and I want a goal and I want do something that’s creative. So I get onto that and that becomes — you’ll see how that all unfolds. That’s the first part of the season.

The Graysons lost all their money, but Daniel’s with Emily so money’s probably not as much of an issue.

Yeah. We need money. It’s not as much of an issue, but he wants to start — it’s a bit of an ego demolisher. Pride. He wants to get a job and do something productive and get him out of the house. I think, hopefully, we’ll see splinters of last season of his Wall Street guy with more of a creative guy. So, he’s going to be a lot more confident in his approach to his relationships.

I’m hoping they don’t write him this assuming-sorta-believing-everything type character, which has been frustrating to play. That’s part of the show. You want to have secrets and everyone has a secret. Everyone knows something that the other doesn’t. I think he’s one of the only characters who hasn’t been like that. So, I’m looking forward to that. There’s certainly going to be a few for me. They’ve introduced a few characters that are going to introduce a lot of conflict between me and other people. So, I’m excited about that.

‘Revenge’ Spoilers: Ten Things to Know about the Season 3 Premiere>>>

In the season 2 finale, Daniel had blood on his shirt after maybe jumping for a gun. I see that Barry Sloane’s here….

I bloody missed. [To Barry standing next to us] I bloody missed. No. You’ll see how that unfolds. Daniel’s not afraid to shoot anybody to be honest, which is surprising. But, he’s not. He’s willing to protect Emily, he’s willing to protect himself and his family. I guess, you know, that shows that he can be a bit of a loose cannon. And, can be quite a unpredictable. So, that’s good and exciting for him.

His thoughts on the upcoming season

I’m excited about this season. It’s going to be a lighter, sexier, more fun than the sort of drama and convoluted storylines that we got into last season. I think the audience will be able to track it and read it better.

Revenge season 3 premieres on Sunday, September 29 at 9 pm ET on ABC
