The story that won’t die.  It’s all becoming a bit tedious, isn’t it?  Last week, the story was that Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller was dating actor Luke MacFarlane, fueling the fire of the “Is Wentworth Miller gay?” question.  This week, Wentworth Miller has struck back.  Kind of.  In a recent interview, Wentworth stated his desire to get married and discussed why it’s so difficult for him to have a relationship.  Wentworth explains:

“We are on the set maybe 14 hours a day, five days a week.  It doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for socializing – I don’t get a lot of chance to date.  But it’s definitely something, a wife and kids, that I’m looking forward to experiencing at some point in the very near future.”

This whole situation is at once bizarre and interesting.  Either way, if Wentworth is gay or not, his behavior has to be considered atypical.  If he’s totally straight, you’d have to presume that all the rumors are troubling to Miller, if not completely devastating, and that he would everything in his power to squash the rumors.  Wouldn’t he make it a priority to go on a token date with some Hollywood starlet?  Just give everyone a little public make out session for the paparazzi?  If he wanted to end the gay rumor, he could do so fairly convincingly.  (Then again, he may just be so well-adjusted that the rumors don’t bother him at all.)

If Miller actually were gay, wouldn’t all this talk have forced him out of the closet by now?  He’s got a steady enough job where it shouldn’t hurt his career.  FOX may not want Miller to come out, but they can’t legally stop him.  If Miller is ever going to announce to the world that he’s gay, there’s probably no better time than now.
