The fifth season of NCIS
premiered last Tuesday, and if Mark Harmon
was being truthful when E! Online's Kristin cornered him during this year's Emmy awards, fans can expect a lot more of their questions answered as the series continues to progress.
"Things are going very smoothly, and we just passed our 100th episode! And if last year was the year of secrets, this year is the year of answers. And that's good. And that's not a tease—in parts of last year, there were a lot more questions than there were answers. This year, some of those answers are going to get answered, and answered quickly,” Harmon told Kristin. “I think the other part of it is that we've done a good job with scripts and being prepared in advance, and that's helped everyone. We've gotten leaner and meaner and faster and stronger.”
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
OK, so all Harmon has established for NCIS
fans at this point is that there will be answers this season. That, and writers have done their job well. He can't be blamed though, as the element of surprise is always vital to any television series, especially if it's as high-action as NCIS
However, for those who are not fond of surprises and wish to be ahead of the pack, our good friends at SpoilerFix have served up some interesting spoilers about the show, some of which are about the upcoming 100th episode that Harmon mentioned.
Readers be warned, some spoilers ahead.
The 100th episode, which is scheduled to air on October 30, is entitled "Chimera." The team goes to a secret Navy vessel via a helicopter after one of the ship's crew members dies mysteriously. Jenny (Lauren Holly
) gets into a fight with the commander of the mission the ship was on. Meanwhile, Tony (Michael Weatherly
) takes delight in seeing Ziva (Cote de Pablo
) become more and more knowledgeable about film vernacular.
The spoiler from SpoilerFix ends there, but TV Guide
and Entertainment Weekly
have some intriguing quotes pertaining to the 100th episode.
Pauley Perrette, who appears on NCIS
as Abby, told TV Guide
that since the episode will air during the Halloween season, the show will have “a spooky Scooby-Doo type” feel. Executive producer Shane Brennan, on the other hand, did not comment on any possible supernatural storyline in the 100th episode, but claimed it would be “fairly emotional.”
