I don't watch this show, but James sure got a job with a quickness!
James Tupper, best known his role as Jack Slattery on ABC’s
Men In Trees and on-and-off screen love interest of co-star
Anne Heche, has signed on to play a love interest for
Christina Applegate’s character Sam. The 42-year-old Canadian actor is reportedly on board for a minimum of three episodes, the first of which he already started shooting this week.
Tupper will be filling in the role of one of the three men who will woo Samantha in the new season. His character’s name is Owen, a charming philanthropist and extremely wealthy “Bruce Wayne type of guy who's catnip to the ladies.”
Meanwhile, there is no word yet on who will be cast for Sam’s other two suitors, consisting of Dr. Andy Adams and Seth. Andy is described as Sam's dorky yet adorable neurologist who, once her insurance stops covering her treatments, finally gets the chance he's been waiting for to ask her out on a date.
Of course fans should not expect a clear path ahead of him because producers of the show are also on the look out for an actor to portray Seth, a “sloppy goofball who answers to the name 'Dude' as often as the name 'Seth.'"
Samantha Who? also stars
Barry Watson as Todd,
Jean Smart as Regina,
Jennifer Esposito as Angela,
Kevin Dunn as Howard,
Melissa McCarthy as Dena, and
Tim Russ as Frank.
