On the new season of Heroes, Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) was rushed off to New Orleans to live with relatives, Nana Dawson (Nichelle Nichols) and Monica Dawson (Dana Davis).  These two actresses spoke to reporters this morning about their Heroes experience.

They spoke about how they got their roles, who St. Joan might be, and what Nichelle Nichols thinks about the upcoming new Star Trek film.

Nichelle Nichols' involvement came when she was on a short trip back to Los Angeles and her manager told her she had to take this audition.  She initially thought it was just for a one-episode guest shot, but was delighted that it was a recurring role after reading the script and getting a good understanding for the character.  She tried her best to deflect questions about the possibility of her character having powers, and was also unclear on how many more episodes she'll be in.  Nichols said that her role keeps expanding, but would not confirm or deny

Dana Davis also tried to dance around questions about what's in store for Monica and what other heroes she might interact with, but she did let us know that Monica will be involved in plenty of fights moving forward, possibly with other heroes.  One reporter question whether Monica will actually don a costume and run around fighting crime as St. Joan, the copycat character in the 9th Wonders comic book seen in the last episode.  Davis couldn't answer, but she did say that it was a good guess.

In regards to the new Star Trek film, Nichols has a lot of respect for J.J. Abrams and is confident that the new film will maintain the wonder of Gene Roddenberry's original while taking the franchise into a new direction.  She's also talked briefly with Heroes co-star Zachary Quinto, who will play Spock.  While she was unsure about the casting based upon pictures she saw, when she talked to him and met him in person, she was certain he was the right man for the role.  Nichols promised that if or when she gets to do a cameo in the new Star Trek film, she'll be screaming it from the rooftops, because she would more than love to do that,
