Hannibal season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the season finale with Will in prison for a murder he didn't commit. At the NBC Winter 2014 TCA Press Tour, Executive Producer Bryan Fuller and the cast including Hugh Dancy, Caroline Dhavernas, Laurence Fishburne and Mads Mikkelsen discussed the upcoming season.

Flash Forward: The season premiere opens with a serious and life-threatening fight between two main characters 12 weeks in the future. That scene will play out again in real time at the end of the season.

Returning Guest Stars: Eddie Izzard (Dr. Gideon), Raul Esparza (Dr. Chilton), Lara Jean Chorostecki (Freddie Lounds) are returning in season 2.

New Guest Stars: Amanda Plumber will play a character that Fuller said will "make you think twice about going to get acupuncture." Jeremy Davis and Jonathan Tucker will also appear on the series as "guest psychopaths."

Alana and Will: "[Alana's] main interest is always Will. ... She will continue to be really focused on making sure Will is okay. And a true shrink, she wants him to heal and face what happened ... and a little more kissing too." - Dhavernas

Kissing: "Lots more kissing this season." - Fuller

Character Arcs: "And so changing the paradigm from the first season where we had kind of a case of the week -- we still do that this season, but we actually spread out more of the soap opera of what's happening with the characters, because all of the work that we did on the first season, now we get to pay off. There's a lot of fruit that we get to go plucking." - Fuller

"Will Graham, you're under arrest for murder."

How does Will get out of this? Which is worse? Believing he did it? Or, believing that Hannibal set him up?

Even if Jack doesn't believe Will, it appears from Dhavernas' comments that Alana is on Will's side so he's not in this all on his own.

Hannibal season 2 premieres on February 28 at 10 pm ET on NBC.
