Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus to Earn Her 'Wings'
Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus to Earn Her 'Wings'
After her phenomenal success on Hannah Montana and a done deal with The Last Song, Miley Cyrus is all ready to take on another new project.  It's another teen flick with a twist, which is really what we can expect from this Disney star.  According to Variety, the tween princess is all set to star in the upcoming movie Wings.

Working once again with the company that catapulted her to stardom, Miley Cyrus will be headlining the film based on a young adult novel.  Disney already acquired the rights to the best-selling book, written by Aprilynne Pike.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Miley's mom, Tish Cyrus, has been slated to executive produce the movie with Temple Hill, who was responsible for producing - what else? - Twilight.  Perhaps the Hannah Montana star isn't contented with her image and wants to take on Kristen Stewart's?

While she has her own fanbase to deal with, Miley's foray into the supernatural is awaited by many audiences.  On the upcoming Wings, she'll be portraying the character Laurel, a 15-year-old sheltered girl who grows up home-schooled in a small town.  As she makes her way to high school, it gets even more difficult to fit in when she suddenly sprouts a pair of wings.  Knowing that she isn't like the other kids, Laurel soon realizes that she's a fairy.

Just like her alter-ego in Hannah Montana, Miley will be playing yet another girl who manages to stand out because of a secret.  If she's hoping to shed her image, maybe it's time for something totally different.  Then again, the market gets whatever it wants most of the time so it looks like Miley Cyrus will be sticking with this project.

The novel Wings was first published in May, and is the first in a planned series of four books.  Whether or not Miley will be starring in any sequels for this set remains to be seen, but her fans will certainly want to see her continue the franchise.
