Matt Czuchry played Logan on Gilmore GirlsActor Matt Czuchry, who played Logan Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls, will be appearing on stage for the West Coast debut of Third, the last play written by the late Wendy Wasserstein.

Third, which first opened at Lincoln Center Theater in 2005, tells the story of a New England University professor who accuses one of her students of plagiarism.  The play will be directed by Maria Mileaf and will open on September 19 at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.  It will run until October 21.

Emmy-award winner Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope, Jack & Bobby) is set to star in the play.  Lahti is quite familiar with Wasserstein's works, having appeared in some of the playwright's earlier plays, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Heidi Chronicles and Lifetime's version of An American Daughter.

"Wendy Wasserstein is one of the most important voices for women of our generation.  The last time we spoke I told her how powerful I felt Third was," Lahti said.  "I'm honored to have another opportunity to portray one of Wendy's complex heroines."

Matt Czuchry will appear in the play as Woodson Bull III, also known as Third.  The 30-year-old actor is highly known for his role on the CW series, Gilmore Girls.  He appeared in 60 episodes, playing Rory Gilmore's (Alexis Bledel) wealthy love interest.

Apart from Gilmore Girls, Matt Czuchry appeared in another CW series, Veronica Mars, wherein he played Norman Phipps, a reporter for Vanity Fair who pretends to be Logan Echolls' (Jason Dohring) half-brother, Charlie Stone.  His other television credits include Freaks and Geeks, Hack, Jake 2.0, 7th Heaven and The Practice.

Aside from Czuchry and Lahti, the cast of Third also includes Jayne Brook (Boston Legal) as Nancy, Sarah Drew (Everwood) as Emily and M. Emmet Walsh (Blade Runner) as Jack.

Making up Third's design team are Vince Mountain for scenic design, Alex Jaeger for costumes and David Lander for lighting.  Michael Roth is the composer, while Dana Anderson serves as production stage manager.
