Neal McDonough is moving to Wisteria Lane, after playing Wyatt Cain on Tin Man
, a three-part television miniseries re-imaging of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
. The 42-year-old actor has joined the cast of ABC’s Desperate Housewives
as a regular next season, according to Michael Ausiello, former TV Guide
gossip columnist who has now taken a new post at Entertainment Weekly.
Aside from Tin Man
, McDonough is also known for portraying Jack Freed on the short-lived American drama-thriller Traveler
. He is also credited for his roles on Medical Investigation, Boomtown, Band of Brothers, Murder One
, and The Incredible Hulk
, just to name a few. On the big screen, he has been cast in They Call Him Sasquatch, Walking Tall, Silent Men, Flags of Our Fathers
and Perfect Little Man
, in which he won a Jury Award for Best Actor in 1999.
Warning: May contains spoilers.
On Desperate Housewives
, McDonough will reportedly play a new white-collar resident who will cross romantic paths with Edie Britt. This casting news will hopefully put a rest to rumors that Nicolette Sheridan
won’t be coming back to the ABC dramedy.
McDonough is the second new addition to the cast of Desperate Housewives
, following the casting of Gale Harold, who will recurrently appear as Ken, the mysterious man kissing Susan Meyer (Teri Hatcher
) in the final flash-forward scene of this past season.
In addition to Desperate Housewives
, McDonough has several upcoming projects slated for the silver screen. He’ll be starring in the drama movie called Traitor
, which also features Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle, and will be a father and a coach in the sports drama Forever Strong
. At present, he is filming action adventure Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which is based on the popular video game, and The Seed
, which will both be released in 2009.
