fans, so, I have to say that apart from the amazing
guest appearance by David Alan Grier as Professor Bunsen Jude "The Science Dude" in the most recent episode of Bones
, "The Body in the Bounty," I wasn't very crazy about this episode.
I mean, it had some good laughs of course, but I wish it had more in the way of character storylines. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely missing the old Booth and Brennan dynamic. But, I suppose that's a discussion for another time. Now, let me break down this week's episode.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
The body of a bounty hunter named Ray Raminsky, better known as "The Wolf," is found decapitated and dismembered, so, of course, Booth and Brennan are called to the scene to investigate.
They soon learn that Ray was after an insidious criminal named Charles Braverman, but so was another bounty hunter named Janet LeBlanc. Because she wanted Braverman for herself, Janet shot Ray in the ribs with a bean bag gun and aggravated a previous injury he had received from his bail bondsman, prompting a piece of his fourth rib to become dislodged and pierce his heart, fatally wounding him.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that she then decapitated and dismembered him. And she seemed like such a nice person, right? Yeah ..."Dude!"
Alright, so my favorite part of tonight's episode was by far Professor Bunsen Jude, "The Science Dude." It was a little strange not having our usual squinterns present in the Jeffersonian for this episode, but I suppose it's nice to change it up a little bit every now and then and I would classify this change as a good one.
With his hilarious sayings and unique approach to science, Professor Bunsen Jude definitely kept things light and fresh in this episode. From his experiment with Hodgins to his influence on Cam, his time at the Jeffersonian seemed to have a wonderful effect on everyone.
He even rubbed off on our lovely Dr. Brennan, getting her to appear on his television show for children. Of course, it wasn't without some hard work as he had to initially prove his worth to Brennan before she would agree to it, but you gotta give him his props for the perseverance, right? It was amazing
! Baby Temperance
Perhaps the sweetest moment of tonight's episode was when Angela revealed to Brennan, while convincing her to appear on Professor Bunsen Jude's show, that if she had a baby girl, she would name her Temperance ... or at least use it as a middle name.
One of the things that has been consistent since the show's beginning is the friendship between Angela and Brennan, and I'm glad that the Bones
writers are doing this element of the show some real justice.
After all, Angela is the only person besides Booth who really seems to understand Brennan, and she's the one who always helps her do the right thing in regard to social interactions and personal relationships. Let's face it. Without Angela, Brennan would never have become the person she currently is. The Bone Lady
Another one of my favorite parts about tonight's episode was Brennan on Professor Bunsen Jude's show. I mean, her outfit alone had me laughing hysterically, but, more than that, it was further evidence to me that she continues to grow as a person; and I'm really pleased with the direction in which the Bones
writers have taken her character.
I think the Hannah storyline has also furthered this personal growth, and I like that in every episode we get to see Brennan in a new light and are thereby reminded of just how much we love her. No new Bones until November
Thanks to the World Series airing on FOX in the coming days, there will be no new episodes of Bones
until Nov. 4 at the earliest. And, if there ends up being a game seven, this date will be pushed back until Nov. 11. That darned baseball!
Let's just hope it doesn't come to that, and let's hope that Bones
comes back with some stellar episodes that will blow us away. Not that the previous episodes haven't been good, I just feel like we're still missing something, and I hope we can get back to that Bones
norm. Don't you? Comment away!(Image courtesy of FOX)
