New American Idol judge Nicki Minaj has teamed up with Justin Bieber for a new music video following an elaborate publicity stunt. Also in today’s Roundup, Daughtry announces he’s co-headlining a tour with 3 Doors Down, Paul McDonald will be on the new Twilight soundtrack and Adam Lambert has released a new lyric video.

Justin Bieber/Nicki Minaj Music Video Involves Hoax

After throwing up on stage, the publicity surrounding Justin Bieber lately is being kicked into high gear. While in the Seattle area earlier in the week for a concert, Justin Bieber sent out this tweet and others like it: “sucks when u take personal footage and people dont respect your privacy.”

Reports surfaced all over the Internet that the “personal footage” included nude photos of the singer. But the entire incident has turned out to be a massive publicity stunt, pulled off by Bieber himself. According to tweets, the photos were going to be leaked online on Friday at noon. That time has passed, and guess what has appeared online instead? Justin Bieber’s new music video for “Beauty and A Beat” featuring Idol judge Nicki Minaj.

The stunt he pulled actually ties in with the music video, with text appearing on the screen saying, “In October 2012 three hours of personal footage was stolen from musician Justin Bieber. The following footage was illegally uploaded by an anonymous blogger.” And much of the video is shot as if Justin was recording everything himself. Check it out below:

Minaj did tease on Twitter that a “big surprise” would be coming, though it doesn’t appear she got involved in the hoax. Maybe that’s for the better, after her massive blowup with Mariah Carey while filming American Idol auditions that even some are calling a publicity stunt in itself.

Daughtry Announces Tour with 3 Doors Down

As Daughtry wraps up their current tour with Nickelback in Europe, they won’t have much time to rest, as the band has announced they’ll be returning to the United States to co-headline a tour with 3 Doors Down. The tour begins November 17 in Tunica, MS, and ends December 15 in Anaheim, CA, with stops in between in Texas, New York, Colorado and Illinois, among others. Lead singer Chris Daughtry says that “It’s an honor to be able to go on the road with 3 Doors Down. We are excited to give fans an energetic rock show every night sharing songs from both our catalogs … we can’t wait to hit the road to share it with our fans.”

Paul McDonald Sings with a Vampire

If you didn’t know by now, Paul McDonald is married to actress Nikki Reed, who plays Rosalie Hale in the Twilight movies. Apparently, it doesn’t hurt to be married to one of the stars because the track list for the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 soundtrack has been released, and husband and wife are teaming up on one of the songs. “All I’ve Ever Needed” will be a duet between Paul and Nikki. No previews have been released yet, but we’ll be sure to report any updates on this song. The soundtrack will be available on November 13, and the film itself is scheduled for a November 16 release date.

Speaking of the two collaborating on music, OK magazine is reporting that they are in the middle of recording a six-song EP together. On the writing process, Nikki says, “Sometimes he comes up with a chorus, and he comes to me and says, ‘I can’t finish this,’ so I write verses. Or he’ll write the majority and I’ll come in with the bridge. I mostly write lyrics, and he’s a great lyricist.” A release date is unknown at this time, but we’re all eagerly awaiting to hear how they sound together.

Adam Lambert’s Lyric Video for “Trespassing”

Adam Lambert has a new single called “Trespassing” and he’s pulling out all the stops, including releasing an eight-song EP (available October 16) that includes remixes of “Trespassing,” “Never Close Our Eyes,” “Better Than I Know Myself” and “Pop That Lock,” as well as a lyric video for the current single, which you can watch below:
