Fans Can Watch and Wear 'American Idol' Next Year
Die-hard fans of American Idol will be delighted to know that their favorite show is about to make waves in the fashion industry.  Recently, FremantleMedia, the show’s producer and licensor, made a licensing agreement with Lyric Jeans, Inc. in order to create a “lyric-inspired” American Idol clothing line.

For those who are unfamiliar with the company, Lyric Jeans, Inc. specializes on designing clothes to reflect a particular song.  Their unique designs allow wearers “to express themselves through the words of their favorite song.”  The company is currently affiliated with a number of recording companies, including Warner Chappell, EMI, Universal, Sony/ ATV and BMG.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.



The American Idol apparel line will be available in department stores, mid-tier and mass market retailers by next year.  The first series of the collection will center on the contemporary juniors and girls market, and will eventually branch out to other areas, such as children’s wear.

Nora Wong, FremantleMedia North America’s manager of consumer licensing, also expressed optimism about the joint venture.

"Lyric Jeans has taken a unique approach in personalizing musical expression through fashion," she said.  "Lending the American Idol name to this apparel line is a fantastic extension for both brands and gets to the heart of what the American Idol brand is all about."

The reality series debuted in 2002, and has since then maintained a great lead over its competitors.  At present, it is one of the highest-rated shows in American television.  Among its many sponsors are Coca-Cola, Old Navy, Kellogg, Pop Tarts, Ford Motor Company, Clairol and AT & T Mobility.

The show is also responsible for launching the careers of today’s most popular artists, such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard and Fantasia Barrino, all of whom have received recognition for their work.
