If you just can’t wait for Tuesday night (yes, Tuesday! Don’t forget!), we have good news for you. You can find out what the Top 12 boys will be singing here! Thanks to Joe’s Place Blog, we have inside information from Friday’s taping. The Top 24 are performing on the real American Idol stage, in front of a real audience. No more small, circular stage surrounded by a pit of close family and friends. It’s all real.

Here is Tuesday night’s set list, with the order and what songs the guys chose.

1. Clint Jun Gamboa – “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder

2. Jovany Barreto – “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain

3. Jordan Dorsey – “OMG” by Usher

4. Tim Halperin – “Street Corner Symphony/Come On Over” by Rob Thomas

5. Brett Loewenstern – “Light My Fire” by The Doors

6. James Durbin – “You Got Another Thing Coming” by Judas Priest

7. Robbie Rosen – “In the Arms of the Angel” by Sarah McLachlan

8. Scotty McCreery – “Letters from Home” by John Michael Montgomery

9. Stefano Langone – “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars

10. Paul McDonald – “Maggie Mae” by Rod Stewart

11. Jacob Lusk – “A House is Not a Home” by Luther Vandeross

12. Casey Abrams – “I Put a Spell on You” by Creedence Clearwater Revival

First of all, I am SO glad Casey Abrams is in it, back from his hospitalization. Sources say he didn’t appear in the first lineup and had to go backstage a few times, but he was able to perform and pretty much killed it. A lot of the song choices are pretty expected, but we’ve heard over and over again how crucial the song choice is, so that’s probably a good thing.

There is one song choice that sticks out a little awkwardly: Jordan Dorsey’s decision to sing “OMG.” Why? Why would he do that? The song isn’t very well suited for live performance, with a reliance on tweaked and auto-tuned vocals for its signature sound. It certainly isn’t the right song to showcase the singer. So unless Jordan Dorsey busts out some amazing dance moves, this could be the end of the road for him.

Sources also report that none of the contestants brought (or were allowed to play) instruments. This could spell trouble for some of the contestants who sound better with instruments (plus I may never get tired of seeing Casey Abrams with his upright bass). I was picturing Tim Halperin and Robbie Rosen with their pianos.

Also not sure about Jovany Barreto and how he’ll fit into this whole scheme. He seems more like “Classic Idol,” harkening back to the days of Justin Guarini and Clay Aiken, and his song choice isn’t helping. “I’ll Be”? That song is tired from being the theme to every 8th grade dance. Who knows, though, maybe he’ll turn it out, prompting all of us to go buy the first five volumes of the NOW collection.

The performance I’m looking forward to the most is probably Jacob Lusk singing, “A House is Not a Home.” If you’re missing Glee on Tuesday night, this may bring back fond memories of Matthew Morrison and Kristin Chenoweth singing this song along with “One Less Bell to Answer.” It could very well be heaven.

Who will rise to the top? Who’s going down based on song choice? Did Jordan Dorsey make the most fatal error or will it be someone else?
