Biography

Amanda Brugel was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and entered the Canadian dance and theater scene at a very young age. This natural performer studied dance as a kid. At the age of 12, she performed in the National Ballet of Alberta production of Cinderella. She then continued to hone her craft in her high school plays. As a result, Amanda Brugel earned the much coveted Fine Arts Talent Scholarship and studied theater in York University.

Brugel started her acting career in the 1999 TV movie Vendetta alongside with Christopher Walken. She has also landed roles on the telefilms 10,000 Black Men Named George, This Time Around, Category 6: Day of Destruction, and What If God Were the Sun? She also starred in the feature films Kaw, a horror flick and the Canadian Indie drama Jack and Ella. Amanda Brugel has also made her appearance in several of the episodes of Soul Food, Kevin Hill (with Taye Diggs), and Doc (with Billy Ray Cyrus), Wild Card, Kojak, Naked Josh, and This Is Wonderland. Brugel has completed a CBS pilot written by Mutchnick & Kohan and helmed by celebrated director James Burrows.

Later on in her career, Brugel returned to Hollywood North to star in the two Canadian series, MVP and Paradise Falls. On MVP, she became known for playing the character Megan Chandler. She later accepted the role of Lynnie Jordan on Paradise Falls. Brugel also landed a part in the sci-fi film Splice, starring Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley and David Hewlett. Some of Brugel’s other credits include roles in A Diva’s Christmas Carol, as well as the 2001 film Jason X. She has also worked on the short drama film A Question, directed by Soo-Won Lee. While rising as one of the most accomplished Canadian Actresses, Brugel has also been engaged to Marcel Lewis.
