Early this year, HBO took its Emmy Award-winning historical drama, Rome, off the air, and among those who are still sorely disappointed at the show's cancellation is George Lucas, the man behind the highly successful Star Wars series.
“They just were starting to get going! Augustus was the greatest emperor of all time, and nobody's ever told his story,” Lucas told TV Guide. For those who are unfamiliar with HBO's Rome, the series was set during the violent transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. The first season depicted the rise and fall of Julius Ceasar's rule, as well as the early life of Augustus (Max Pirkis).

As Titus Pullo on the historical drama series Rome, Ray Stevenson was known as a man of huge appetites and wild passions. He depicted an upbeat soldier with morals of a pirate and often lacked a sense of personal responsibility. Despite being good-natured, he was a beast of a man who ended up becoming a terror to his enemies. This overall defiant attitude sustained his life through many wars and, evidently, until the end of the series. Later this year, he’ll be emerging in the silver screen with yet another action war-themed movie.

Kevin McKidd received critical acclaim as one of the stars of the HBO series Rome. As Lucius Vorenus, he depicted an honorable yet ruthless traditionalist Roman soldier who struggled to balance his personal beliefs, his military duties and the needs of his family. Although he was considered as a stern and unsympathetic man to the public, he was, in private, a passionate man when it came to his family. He endured much distress as a result of his conflict with Erastes Fulmen (Lorcan Cranitch) and the loss of his wife Niobe (Indira Varma). In the end, it was revealed that he died during an encounter with Octavian’s soldiers, though his death or body was never featured on the show. In the coming months, he’ll be briefly leaving the small screen to star in an action war-themed film, a comedy movie and a romantic biopic.
