In the upcoming series Moonlight, Dohring will play the character Josef, an ancient vampire who is confidant to the lead character Mick. In contrast to Mick, Josef takes delight in his immortality, depicting an eternally young, wealthy and mischievous hedge-fund trader. Dohring’s character is said to replace 60-year-old Rade Serbedzija.

Meanwhile, Dohring isn’t the only new addition to the cast of the horror-themed drama. Ever since David Greenwalt, credited for Angel, took over the show last month, many changes have been incorporated on the show. In line with his, Moonlight has gradually pulled in some new faces to revamp its cast. The show has taken in Shannyn Sossamon, who will be replacing Amber Valletta as Coraline, Mick’s bloodsucking wife. In addition, Sophia Myles, credited for Dracula and Underworld: Evolution, will be playing an Internet reporter, replacing the role Shannon Lucio’s intrepid TV reporter character Beth Turner. With the addition of the three, Moonlight has now completed its cast overhaul, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

For the unfamiliar, Moonlight centers on a vampire/ private eye named Mick St. John, played by Alex O’Loughlin, who falls in love with a human reporter while he struggles to exist with his immortal curse.

Produced by Warner Bros. Television and Silver Pictures, Moonlight is scheduled to air every Friday night at 9/8c on CBS this coming fall.
