The Voice returns this fall with a headline-grabbing twist—and a firm premiere date. NBC confirms Season 28 begins on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 8/7c on television and streams the next day on Peacock. Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé are back in the red chairs.

The bigger change is a brand-new power for longtime host Carson Daly called the “Carson Callback.” As first reported, the feature lets Daly bring an Artist back if the Coaches let them go too soon—an unprecedented role for the host. “Sometimes I see great singers fall through the cracks,” Daly says in the preview. “And I’ve never been able to do anything about it — until now.”

How the Carson Callback could reshape The Voice

Historically, only the Coaches have decided who advances in the early rounds. The Carson Callback gives Daly a limited but meaningful chance to undo an exit. NBC notes that full mechanics have not been revealed yet, but the rule is expected to “shake things up” during Season 28’s early episodes.

Premiere schedule & where to watch

Season 28 premieres with a two-hour episode on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with episodes airing Mondays and Tuesdays and next-day streaming on Peacock. If history is a guide, expect early weeks to front-load Blind Auditions before Battles and Knockouts arrive.
