With Teresa Giudice behind bars, Melissa Gorga is worried that Bravo execs won’t bring her back for season 7 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, according to Radar Online.

“Melissa’s story line has always depended on Teresa, and now that [Teresa’s] in prison, she’s not sure what will happen to her,” says a source close to the production. “The fights between their two families have been major plot lines on the show, but without Teresa what is Melissa going to do?”

Since Melissa and husband Joe Gorga joined the cast in season 3, the family friction between Teresa and her brother and sister-in-law has been front and center. Teresa has either directly or encouraged others who want their 15 minutes of fame to drag Melissa’s reputation through the mud. The most damning allegations that have come out against Gorga are that the mother of two was once a stripper and that she has been unfaithful. Neither claim has been substantiated by more than word-of-mouth from unreliable sources. Giudice also blames Gorga for her strained relationship with her brother.

Bravo, for the time being anyway, appears to want to distance itself from the whole Giudice debacle. “After the seedy drama surrounding Teresa, production really wants to class up the franchise,” an insider says. The network has cast a net all over the Garden State looking for fresh faces to feature in the upcoming season. The infusion of new blood doesn’t bode well for Gorga.

Gorga did a lackluster job during season 6 trying to fill Teresa’s shoes as the resident mean girl. Her singing career appears to have stalled, and she doesn’t have any more book deals on the horizon.

Rumors have circulated for months that the Gorgas have financial problems, even though the couple sold their mansion in Montville Township back in August for $3.8 million. Still, if money is tight, being a part of The Real Housewives can bring in some extra cheddah, especially if you factor in public appearances.

Given all of the turmoil between herself and her sister-in-law, you’d think Gorga would be relieved that Teresa is out of her lustrous brown locks and off pounding rocks in Danbury. But Gorga fears that producers won’t want her without Teresa.

“Melissa is definitely concerned that she is on the chopping block,” the source says. “She doesn’t want to be irrelevant and is not sure what will happen to her.”
