The Taylor Swift documentary conversation has a new centerpiece on Disney+. On Friday, December 12, 2025, Disney+ launched the first two episodes of The End of an Era, a six-episode end of an era docuseries that follows Swift’s Eras Tour from the inside. The same day also delivered Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show, a Vancouver concert film captured at BC Place on December 8, 2024.

The End of an Era is positioned as an intimate look at the life of the “Opalite” singer during The Eras Tour. Swift described the scale in the trailer: “This show created a bonding experience for, like, 70,000 people all at once.” She added, “This was the biggest challenge any of us has ever done.”

Taylor Swift documentary release schedule on Disney+

PEOPLE contributing writer Christopher Rudolph laid out a clear rollout: six episodes, released two at a time, every Friday. The schedule runs as follows: Dec. 12: Episodes 1 & 2; Dec. 19: Episodes 3 & 4; Dec. 26: Episodes 5 & 6. New episodes arrive at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. on Fridays.

ABC News, via Good Morning America, also noted that the first two episodes “dropped on Disney+ on Friday, Dec. 12, at 12 a.m., PT.” ABC aired a preview event the same day at 8 p.m., ET, pairing Episode 1 with a one-hour presentation of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show.

Who appears in the Taylor Swift docuseries

ABC News said The End of an Era includes “star-studded appearances” from Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch. The docuseries also includes Swift’s band, dancers, crew and family members.

Travis Kelce appears in the docuseries. In the official trailer, Andrea Swift says, “Travis Kelce — he brings a lot of happiness.” ABC News described a clip of the couple “kissing underneath the stage.”

PEOPLE also cited a press release that promised “never-before-seen insight,” plus guest-star appearances from Abrams, Carpenter, Sheeran, and Welch. The series is directed by Don Argott and co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce.

What ‘The Final Show’ adds to the Eras tour documentary package

Disney+ paired the series with a concert feature that captures the closing night of The Eras Tour. ABC News said the tour began in March 2023 and ran through December 2024. PEOPLE specified a date and place for the closing performance: Dec. 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada, at BC Place.

ABC News also said the Vancouver performance includes Swift’s entire set from The Tortured Poets Department, which she released in April 2024. PEOPLE noted that this set “was not included in the first Eras Tour concert film.”

The Vienna story addressed in docuseries footage

One docuseries segment revisits the canceled Vienna, Austria shows in July 2024. Entertainment Weekly reported that Swift said her “fear” and “guilt” were “overwhelming” after authorities foiled what officials described as a planned terrorist attack.

Swift said she was “devastated” when the Vienna concerts were called off. She also said the cancellations “filled me with a new sense of fear.” Entertainment Weekly described her as “skating on thin ice” while touring, and quoted her referencing “very violent, scary things happening to the tour.”

Entertainment Weekly reported that CIA Deputy Director David S. Cohen said the plot involved “plotting to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people.” The report said a 19-year-old Austrian man, identified by The New York Times as Mohammad A., and a 16-year-old were arrested.

CBS News reported that the suspect had “pledged allegiance” to an ISIS-connected group. Entertainment Weekly said the teen allegedly learned to make a bomb from an Al Qaeda manual. The report said the U.K.’s Terrorism Act was cited in the 18-month sentence of Axel Rudakubana, who later pleaded guilty in January 2025 to stabbing three children and attempting to kill 10 more in Southport, U.K.
