In perfect casting news, The Walking Dead has found its villain for season 7. According to the Hollywood Reporter, former Supernatural star and current The Good Wife star, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is joining The Walking Dead as Negan. Negan is a comic-fan favorite but has only been hinted about on AMC’s The Walking Dead and in cast and producer interviews. Morgan as Negan will be first introduced in the season six finale, which will air in the spring.

AMC Renews The Walking Dead for Season 7>>>

The Walking Dead showrunner, Scott Gimple has talked about Negan before in interviews. He has expressed a desire to introduce the character but as comic fans know, Negan is quite fond of dropping a certain four letter word beginning with “F.” It’s not a word AMC uses lightly. Clearly though The Walking Dead has found a way to work Negan in with his f-bombs. As previously mentioned Negan will appear in the season six finale before returning for season seven as a series regular.

According to TV Line, Negan was originally cast under the name Orin. “Orin” was described as “an imposing, charismatic, brutal, frightening, ferocious and hilarious sociopath in his 30s to mid-40s that is both a leader (and killer) of men.” As someone who is very familiar with Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s large TV resume that description fits his acting style perfectly.

But what do you think? Are you a comic fan who is ready to see Negan? Do you think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is good casting? Are you a Jeffery Dean Morgan fan who is ready to see him on another show? Or do you not care about The Walking Dead at all after Glenn’s apparent death?

The Walking Dead season 6 airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC.
