Born on February 11, 1956 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Catherine Hickland was educated at Florida Atlantic University, majoring in physical education. She dropped out after two years to pursue an acting career. In 1980, she appeared as Dr. Courtney Marshall on Texas and since then has appeared on soap operas such as Capitol, Loving and The City. In 1998, she was cast as Lindsay Buchanan on One Life to Live. Her guest appearances on television series include ChiPs, Law & Order and Airwolf. Hickland also had a brief stint in The Bold and the Beautiful, when she temporarily played Brooke Logan while Katherine Kelly Lang was on maternity leave.
Lindsay Rappaport Buchanan is played by Catherine Hickland on One Life to Live. Lindsay came to Llanview in pursuit of her ex-husband, Sam Rappaport, forming a love triangle between him and Nora Buchanan. She eventually married Clint Buchanan, however, the marriage did not last due to her manipulative ways. Lindsay have two children together, Will and Jennifer.
