English actress Zuleikha Robinson was born in London in June 29, 1977 and raised in the Far East, particularly Thailand and Malaysia. She was educated at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and later pursued an acting career in Hollywood. Of mixed descent (Burmese, Indian, Iranian, Scottish, and English), she was born to a Burmese Indian mother and an English father.
Zuleikha Robinson began her acting career with a small role in the unconventional 2000 drama Timecode, written and directed by Mike Figgis. It has been credited as the first film to be shot in a single continuous take for around 93 minutes, using four digital cameras. Robinson was later catapulted into TV fame, when she landed the role of Yves Adele Harlow in the spin-off series of The X Files, which was titled The Lone Gunmen. She appeared in more than ten episodes in 2001, and even appeared on The X Files as a different character in 2002. She continued to rise to fame, when she landed roles on several feature films. She was given a part in the horror flick Slash, and starred opposite Viggo Mortensen in the Western adventure film Hidalgo. In 2004, she landed a role on the BAFTA-nominated drama The Merchant of Venice. This enabled her to work alongside stars like Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Joseph Fiennes, and Lynn Collins. Robinson later worked with director Mira Nair on the film adaptation of the Jhumpa Lahiri novel, The Namesake. Robinson was able to act with Kal Penn, Jacinda Barrett and Brooke Smith on the movie. Her next project became the television series Rome, where she was cast in the recurring role of Gaia. In 2008, she joined the cast of the FOX drama, New Amsterdam. She was given the part of strong-willed NYPD detective, Eva Marquez, the female lead. Her other co-stars include Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Alexie Gilmore, Stephen Henderson, and Robert Clohessy.
