Canadian actor Yanic Truesdale was born on March 17, 1970 in Quebec, Canada. Raised predominantly by his mother, he first got into acting when one of his friends took him to audition for acting school on a whim. While his friend was rejected from the school, Yanic got accepted. There, he discovered that his true passion did lie in the field of acting. Before he began to pursue his career on television, he studied at the National Theater School of Canada. He already rose to fame in his home country with his numerous appearances, but he decided to branch out. He tried his hand on American television and upon moving to New York, he studied at New York’s Strasberg Theater Institute.
An actor holding dual United States and Canadian citizenship, Yanic Truesdale soon embarked on his acting aspirations. He first landed a role on the long-running Canadian series, He Shoots, He Scores. Later on, he received a Gemini Award nomination for his performance in the Canadian sitcom, Roommates. He also became known for starring in a French series, Majeur et vaccine, which aired on the SRC channel. In 1995, he was cast in Les H?ritiers Duval, followed by a small role in two episodes of Un gars, une fille. In 1999, he was seen on the series The Sentinel. The next year, he landed the part that brought him the most fame. Truesdale joined the cast of the series Gilmore Girls, portraying the character Michel Gerard. The Emmy Award-winning show enabled him to work alongside Alexis Bledel, Lauren Graham, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop and Edward Herrmann. While starring on the series, Truesdale was given a role in the TV movie See Jane Date. He got the part of Noah, acting alongside Charisma Carpenter, David Lipper, Joshua Malina, Cameron Mathison, Zachary Levi and Rachelle Lefevre.
