BuddyTV Widget Builder Instructions
Why use the BuddyTV Widget Builder?
The BuddyTV Widget Builder is a tool that can help you create additional and compelling content for your fan site. The tool uses BuddyTV’s existing and ever growing content to create a widget and a widget site that can match your fan site’s look and feel.
How it works:
You tell the tool what type of widget you want, pick your fan site’s colors and font style, then select the show or celebrity your fan site is focused on and click build. The tool will show you a preview of your widget and widget site then give you a simple embed code that you can use anywhere on your fan site. You can make as many widgets as you like with as many colors combinations as you can dream up.
Step-by-step instructions:
  1. Go to www.buddytv.com/widgets/buildwidget.aspx
  2. Pick the type of widget you want to build.
  3. Select the colors and font that best match your site.
  4. Put in your sites URL so we can point the “Home” link to your site.
  5. (*optional)
    Add your site's header image by supplying the URL from it (right click, properties, copy URL), or create a new header image and upload it to your server then provide the URL.
    (recommended size 1006x200 pixels)
  6. Click Preview to see a preview of your color and font settings on an example widget site; make color and font changes as needed.
  7. Choose which show or actor you want the widget to focus on.
  8. Set your widgets width to best fit your site (when applicable).
  9. Click the build button to preview the widget; make color and font changes as needed.
  10. Copy the embed code provided and paste it on your site.
