As Without a Trace remains to tinker dangerously on the brink of cancellation, its season 7 finale - "Undertow" - will air tonight on CBS (Entertainment Weekly says the drama is "unlikely" to return for an eighth season).  On "Undertow," the team searches for a man who disappears after a late night dive.  The finale will also feature Oscar winner Martin Landau reprising his role as Jack‘s (Anthony LaPaglia) father Frank. Poppy Montgomery‘s real-life boyfriend Adam Kaufman will also be back as the father of Samantha‘s (Montgomery) son, Finn.  Elsewhere on the finale, Danny (Enrique Murciano) and Elena (Roselyn Sanchez) take their relationship to another level.

When we left Without a Trace three weeks ago, a weatherman by the name of Ben Coleman started acting weird one day.  He stepped out of his car, a Porsche if I remember it right, and had small talk with a woman regarding getting a car that gets great mileage.  He walked in the station with a cup of coffee for the equipment manager, who was a little weirded out by the act.  When he went on air to give the weather, a producer started noticing that Ben was bleeding from his abdomen.  Then he walked down the hall and vanished.  Needless to say, the team was called in to investigate.  The probe led them to his high school and a Civil War reenactment, which should be all fun and games, until real weapons were used.

CBS‘ Without a Trace is currently in its seventh season, with the next new episode airing on October 14.  Entitled “Last Call,” the episode will follow the team as they investigate the case of a missing white-collar criminal who suddenly disappears on his way to testify against a former associate.

Bringing up the tail end to this week‘s avalanche of CBS shows coming back from the rerun court of last resort is the Anthony LaPaglia-led Without A Trace

After two years of being in a relationship, Without A Trace star Roselyn Sanchez and Days of Our Lives alum Eric Winter finally announced their engagement.  The celebrity couple got engaged while on a holiday vacation on the island of Vieques, just east of mainland Puerto Rico over the festive weekend.

Without A Trace will be opening the new year with a rebroadcast of “Two of US,” an episode from the fifth season where the team searches for a teenaged girl who disappeared during her prom.  This installment is set to air on Thursday, January 3, 2008.  Following this episode, however, CBS will get the ball rolling with a fresh case involving a missing private investigator in the episode “4G,” which airs on January 10.
